![]() While I overall prefer minimal time skips and less party retirements if possible, I like how Enduring War is actually a story about people trying to beat death for better and for worse, while your own party ages and leaves children behind to carry the torch parallel to that. A story about mortality, and conflict that can outlast several generations as all the major players change throughout the years. But I don’t remember too much of the main conflict beyond that.Įnduring War probably does the best job of embodying the game’s central theme. ![]() ![]() Monarchs had my favorite character arc, with your first party member being someone at their lowest point and nearly dying to join the cult, only for them to get a second chance at life after meeting up with some of your old legacy adventurers and finding new purpose. Racing against the map being flooded was an interesting idea though. It’s shorter than the others and doesn’t give the antagonists much to work with outside of the encounter where one of the party links up to the hive mind. Eluna and the Moth > All Bones of Summer > Enduring War > Monarchs Under the Mountain > Age of UlstryxĪge of Ulstryx was fine (and novel, being my first campaign) but it definitely felt like the tutorial adventure of the bunch.
